Hey readers! Let’s talk music. Sza is by far one of my favorite female singers. Every one of her sings are filled with the most angelic runs, and her style is phenomenal. Her music is so calming but also fun. It’s perfect for car rides, which is when I listen to her music the most. Having her music turned up to the max, driving around with friends and watching the river as your car passes by, it’s one of the best feelings. And all of her music is so genuine, every sing has a deeper meaning than what you’d think. Sza is very gifted when it comes to writing and singing. Her lyrics go together in a different way than most would, and you wouldn’t expect the end to rhyme the beginning but it always does and is so beautiful. I don’t think that she has a song that I don’t love, because she puts equal amounts of work into each one, and every time she comes out with a new one, it’s even better.
Today I’m talking about her song, “Drew Barrymore”. This song is so powerful and so beautiful. In this song Sza sings about seeing an ex that she still feels connected to and how hard it is seeing him with someone else. And even though she misses him, she knows they aren‘t compatible. Some of the best lyrics in this song are; “I get so bored I forget my worth, we get so bored we pretend that this works“. And it’s so true. When we get lonely, we forget our value and how much we deserve, and because if that we settle for so much less. We settle for a toxic temporary love that deep down we know isn’t gonna work. Self love and respect is very important because if we don’t have it, we’ll find ourselves in some really sad situations. So, know your worth. It’s definitely more than you think. God bless, and thanks for reading.
