I love reading books or listening to songs about love. It makes me feel so giddy inside and it’s a happy, warm feeling. And love is a crazy emotion, very hard to describe because there’s so many parts to it. But love songs still try and shine a little light on it and share it with the world, because it’s what the world needs. I believe it’s what everyone needs, what is life without love? It seems like it’d be hopeless to live life without ever loving someone or being loved. This song, Collide, talks about love in such a pure form. It mentions the good and the bad, the easy and the hard. The lyrics are so real, they’re so compelling. The singers in this song both have beautiful voices, their ranges vary from the highest high to the lowest low, and the way they sing, anyone listening would want to sing along. Just hearing the words, you can feel the connection between the two. It seems peaceful, and happy. And their voices sound amazing together, they make a great pair for duets. The way Tiana harmonizes you’d think she was really an angel sent down by god, it’s just absolutely beautiful. I love listening to this sing because it just sends off good energy, doesn’t matter if you’re having bad day. Turn it on, and you’re going to smile.

The voices are soft and comforting when the chorus starts; “When we collide, it’s a beautiful disaster, when I crash into you.” I love that, it’s so honest. Yes, love is a risk and you’ve got to put everything you have into it, and sometimes you really do crash. But you can do it with class, with beauty even. I think the most beautiful things are the ones that were messy, not quite right. Same with people and relationships. Everyone knows the best romance novel to read is one about forbidden love, because it’s not supposed to be. But we’re human, we rebel, break the rules. Especially for love, and that’s why I love these lyrics so much. Because it is possible to be beautiful disaster. And a lot of relationships are like that, they’re not perfect. Not very many people just fit together like puzzle pieces, healthy relationships take work. Another lyric I love is; “We’re going slow because you know the world moves to fast,” and she has an accent singing it that’s so beautiful and somehow makes the song come alive a little bit more. And it’s true, the world does move to fast and it’s important that we take our time with the people we love and just soak up all the seconds that life gives us.

My absolute favorite lyrics from this song are; “Everybody's got opinions on our thing, say we’re flying down a path with no ending, And if I die before I wake, please don’t let me wake up from this dream.” Since their relationship really is a beautiful disaster, a lot of people think it would be best if they just ended it, they think it’s pointless and won’t get the two anywhere but far from where they’re supposed to be. But those people are missing the point of perfect imperfection. Love isn’t about taking the good and neglecting the bad, it’s about taking all of the other person, and giving them all of you. Crash sometimes, be flawed. It’s way better that way. And the path that these lovers are on is no mistake, it’s adventure. And they’re living life to its fullest. There is an ending, a destination, and its happiness. When their lives here on earth are over but their love for one another goes on. This song is so powerful, I would absolutely recommend listening to it.
