Coffee Breath- Sofia Mills

Hey readers! Let’s talk music! I love acoustic music so much. Guitar and ukulele especially, I love the sounds. Every time I hear a song like that, I love listening to the different kinds of strums and chords that are put together. These kinds of songs mean so much to me because they bring back so many memories, and good ones. I feel happy, like I’m somewhere other than this chaotic world. It’s mesmerizing how a song can do that, take you from wherever you are and transport you to a different place. I struggle with all sorts of things everyday, and music is always my go to. The way the sounds embrace me with a calm hug and let me know it’s all gonna be alright, I love it. Acoustic music is so relaxing and makes you smile. It’s fun to listen to upbeat songs but it’s also so important to listen to calm music and just, be. Be happy, be you, just be.

The song I’m writing about today was one on the playlist I just uploaded, Coffee breath. I heard this song this summer, and I instantly fell in love. I had it on repeat everyday for weeks, and I never got tired of it, I never will. It’s so beautiful, and though it keeps the same strum patterns and sounds, the lyrics pull me into somewhere I want to be all the time. They lighten my darkest days, make me smile, make me wanna dance or draw or even paint. This song tells me about somewhere I’ve never been but it feels so much like home, it’s my hope for the future. In this song, Sofia talks about being with her friend whom she’s in love with, and how in love she is. Some of my favorite lyrics in the song are; “You’ve got those big blue eyes, drive me crazy, make me fantasize about you, baby”. They’re so innocent yet to intimate. She finds everything about him amazing, and she’s so in love that even his eyes are a place of peace for her.

This song makes me think of a perfect morning, waking up with the person you love, having coffee, peaceful and quiet, yet the room is filled thickly with emotions. It makes me think I wanna be there. I imagine a cream colored apartment, lots of plants and fluffy pillows. Vanilla mochas on a white marble countertop. Sitting on a balcony with you’re morning dose of energy and the person who makes you happy. Every time I hear this song, I’m so happy. I just want to transport into the lyrics and let them write me a story I know by heart because it’s all I ever think about. Sofia Mills is such a talented artist. This song is a must-listen-to. It brings you so many good emotions. So many good thoughts, memories, hopes for the future. The song itself is beautiful, but everything that comes with it is too much to describe. It’s nothing I can fully explain, but I hope that my insight on it inspires you to listen to it as much as this song inspires me to live life to its fullest.
